I am working on a PDF Welcome Kit for new hires at our company. This document will be sent out via USB and email to new hires. It has a basic interface for navigating to the documents that uses the links tool to navigate. The attached documents range from informational to interactive forms that need to be filled out, saved and emailed back to us.
I am creating this using Acrobat 8 Professional. I have Acrobat 9 Pro but need to make sure this document is compatible with 8 users.
The task I have is to do this.
I have have added he 40+ attachment forms to the main PDF interface. I have added reader usage rights to the forms before doing this.
I am also password protecting the entire document once it is completed.
The problem i'm running into is when the main interface is opened in Reader 9 and you click on one of links to open the form, the form is editable but cannot be saved. I need the form to be editable and be able to be saved by the end user.
I've tried adding usage rights to the whole document including the interface and attachments but then you get that purple bar at the top of every page.
Thank You
Chris Riley
I've run into the same issue. We often send out packages of an agenda with a series of attached pdfs that correspond to agenda items. We are encouraging our users to use commenting to save paper, but I can't seem to get the attached documents to keep the settings once they are attached.
Did you ever find a solution to this problem?
