I have Adobe Professional 8.0. When I open the form I'm editing, I get 15 or so error messages saying "Malformed SOM Expression while..." I've been searching the web and haven't come up with any relevant solution. I would really appreciate help with this.

Hi SBaa07,

Have you tried turning on the Javascript debugger? Edit --> Preferences --> Javascript then select the Enable Javascipt debugger after Acrobat is restarted. Then you can turn on the console to find out more information regarding your errors and what is creating them.

I enabled the debugger and it seems to be pointing to an issue with the standard print button. So I tried to removing the print button and this seemed to make it worse! I tried removing the standard javascript print function and just put in the basic line from the help file example. No luck. Also, this only seems to affect users opening the form through their browser when accessing the form through our extranet. However, when I open the form locally on my machine the error message doesn't pop up but the debugging console shows the issue (XFA). Any ideas? I can send a copy of the form if someone is interested in taking a look at it. Thanks!!

I got the same error (Malformed SOM Expression) multiple times when I do a preview the form. I saw that on the preview there are a few places showing boxes that seem to cause error but when I switch back to the Design View I don't see those boxes on the form.

I converted the form from existing PDF form. Any recommendations?
