What is the difference in using the File>Close vs File>Exit in a Mouse Up - Execute a menu item action?

Close keeps the Acrobat application open and closes the active document. Exit shuts down Acrobat completely.

..which is why you'll have problems running it from a script - the script engine would be closed by the script it's trying to execute, and that can't happen as there'd be no place for the return value to go.
