Fill-Out Form with single char boxes

I have fill-out form , and there is a field for first & last names. However, the field has a seperate box for each character of the name, and I am having trouble aligning the characters of my pdf name field so that they position themselves into the appropriate boxes on the form. Anybody have any ideas on this? I have tried playing with font size, field length/width ect. I have also tried making each box into a seperate pdf field, restricted to a single character, but then the user would have to tab after entering each character - this is unacceptable.

Hi pgmr1999,

Have you tried making your text field a comb with a defined set of characters? After creating the text field, in the Properties dialog under the Options tab check the box labeled "Comb of" and enter the number of characters you want in the text box. The field will then have a single box for each character and then hopefully you can size the field to line up with the boxes on the page. With a comb you do not have to tab to get to the next field- it automaticallly advances as you type.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri
