I'm using a form that erases data that I have previously saved. I did not create the form. Is there any way I can set this form to retain my data?

I'm not the only one then!

NO is the answer to your question. See my post if you haven't already

Adobe with their latest release, have now disabled the saving of all completed forms locally with Reader and you can only email the data if there is a 'submit' button on the form. As mentioned even with Pro 7 you can NO longer save once saveable, editable forms for the recipients who just have Reader.

Adobe are now trying to reap as much as they can when they release new software by disabling, previously accessible items and line their now grubby pockets by the look of things. I'm spreading the word.

So, what can you do, either buy the Full Pro 8 (not 7) or buy someone elses PDF creation software which will be cheaper.

Otherwise, I'm sorry to say .... your buggered!!! Thanks Adobe!

rretrop - I'll answer your question - Are you using Acrobat or Reader? If the form author set the form up to "clear" the form before/after use that is probably a security precaution if the form is used in public venues.

If you have Reader there is really nothing you can do.
If you have Acrobat, you can look at the security settings to see if you can change the form.

The functionality in Reader has not changed based on how forms behave. Reader has always allowed a customer to fill and send or fill and submit. Fill and save was available. However, with Acrobat 8 Professional, it is now possible to set up a form to allow fill & save.
