Form field creation and directing the flow of tabs

Hello Everyone:
I've only had Acrobat for a few days and I must say how happy I am at the level of support available online. I am using Acrobat Pro 8 and am trying to input form fields using the automated detection feature. Within In Design I have already created a document and inserted place holders using the paintbrush tool and rectangle tool with the idea that Acrobat would pick up on these area and designate them and fields, this didn't work.
I was successful in building a form within Word with simple dashes placed where I wanted the field to be placed. Acrobat picked up on the dashes however as the dashes were obviously not on any other layer I was unable to get rid of them afterwards.
So after all this I would ask that anyone share their experiences on how to best build documents within In Design for use with Acrobat specifically with field creation in mind. Also if you're using In Design, what do you use as a place holder for fields ?

Thanks,

Adrian.

Hi Adrian,

Ted Padova has some great tips on how to design a form created in InDesign for Form Field Recognition (sp. Tip #6):
