When I try to calculate two fields for a total, it tells me that the fields do not exist.

I've assumed that you are adding fields.

Each field name must be unique and its format set to numbers.

To mathematically add the fields, create a field that will receive the total and set its Calculate property to add the sum of all fields that will receive numerical inputs.
