Forms Handling for New Person

Hello,

1. I have created a form from a previously existing pdf, I locked all the fields so that I would not delete or move anything. I previewed it and checked all the fields, the text size looks good.

Now what? I want to email the form to someone to use. Is there something that I have to do to the form prior to sending it to the end user? Does it have to be saved in some special way, locked in some special way, closed in some special way? Turned into a pdf? Turned back into something else?

2. I have a purple bar that says "Please fill out the following form. If you are the form author, choose Distribute form in the forms menu to send to your recipients". When I have seen the forms they only say "Please fill out the following form. " Why does my form have all that extra information that I don't want my form users to see?

3. I have some red numbers on my form that I really would like to remove. I feel as though they were layed on top of the original document in some way. I would love to get rid of it. If I could erase it, or cover with a small white square of some sort, that would be great. I tried redacting it but redaction is only in black so that made it worse. White redaction would be perfect.

Thanks

1. If you want a Reader user to be able to save a filled-in form, then you have to enable the PDF document for use with Reader. This is also known as Reader-enabling and applying usage rights. In Acrobat 9, you'd use the "Advanced > Extend Features in Adobe Reader" menu item.3. It's hard to know what you're referring to without seeing the document. Are you able to make changes to the source document and create a new PDF? Can you post it somewhere?

Hi George,

Thank you very much for your answer. That was exactly what I needed. I sent the form to myself on another computer and saw that:

1. the document would not save,
2. the purple bar did in fact resolve itself to better updated information for the user and
3. I found an editing tool that removes type and extraneous markings by going to View > Toolbar > Advanced Editing
