Forward slash "/" not working on the form

I am very new to forms and am trying to use a form a coworker created. I need to use a forward slash "/" in the text that needs to be entered but as soon as I move away from that field, it delets the slash. What can I do? Can I change the form or is it the method of entry?

Thanks,

tm-

This is unusual. If you put the cursor back into the field does the forward slash reappear?

Is there any formatting on the field? To see if there is formatting, or other actions associated with the field, activate the "Select Object" tool on the Advanced Editing toolbar and then right click on the field and select properties from the popup menu.
