General question about DB's and Adobe Acrobat

Sorry for the general posting... but I was not sure where to look... and I've been searching all over google for a lead... and it was to here...

I would like to populate a PDF with data from a database (either SQL Server or MySQL). I have a form with, say, 100 fields... these fields relate directly to columns in a database I already have populated with around 10,000 records. What I would like to be able to do is, when editing a record (in an application), add a button the the app, and trigger a dump of the current row to a pdf form, which would print.

What product should I use for this?

Thanks,

Ken

Try a "Search Forums" with Keyword search = "database pdf" & author = "thomp"
Thom Parker has a number of posts that may be useful.
As you would be putting data into the PDF you'll have to decide which forms method to use for your PDFs
(Forms: LiveCycle or Forms: Acrobat) as I believe this can make a difference in the "how-to".

Here is a link to several examples of Working with data sources and schemas with forms developed in LiveCycle Designer.

If you're using Acrobat, check out ADBC (Acrobat Database Connectivity). This is disabled by default but can be useful in limited desktop applications.
