Getting a Unique ID for a Form When Opened for Fill up.

I need to design a Form for collection some customer data.

I need to have one fied pre populated with a Unique ID to be used as key for my database. Some unique serial number to be dynamically generated and populated in the Form's Serial ID Field.

How to generate such Id and then populated in the Field.

AcroForms does support subscribed global variablesbut his could be tough to impliment in diverse network situation. One could also look at using a web or networked database to assign the variable.
