Ghost drop down menu's

I have 12 PDF forms in a folder, I've created fill in fields on each for in Acrobat 8.0 Pro. These forms have no link between any of them, yet when I double click on some fields (not all fields) a menu appears with various choices that can be selected and will fill in that field. In some cases when I change the name the drop down goes away, other fields it doesn't seem to matter what I do. I've gone so far as to recreate the field, give it a new name and I still get a drop down.

Any ideas as to how and why this happens? Any suggestions as to how to stop it from happening?

Are you sure that the field types are text fields and not combo boxes? Double check your field types. the behavior sounds irregular, but perhaps a bug exists. Be sure to run the 8.1 upgrade and double check your forms.

Ted, Thanks for the follow-up. Yes, I'm only using Text boxs on the forms and I have all the recent updates installed. The problem is not with all my forms, but it still happens when I double click a certain fields. I was working on another form today and I wanted to see if I would get a drop down. I did, it happened in 3 fields. I've looked at the field properties and the form properties but could not find where the problem is coming from.
If you have any other thought I would like to hear from you.
Thanks,
