Help with merging

I have Acrobat Pro 9
I often create PDF's with the Form Editor and insert text fields as a header for each page.

These PDF's are often very similar but not identical. However when I try to merge these files into a single PDF Adobe changes all of the headers to be the same as the header on the first page.

Is it possible to avoid this action?

Do the fields on the header have the same name?

If so, you need to change the field name on each form being merged prior to merging.

Most fields with the same name share the properties of any member of that group, for text fields this also include the value of the field. Other form fields like check boxes or radio buttons have an export value unique to each individual button.

Yes they sometimes have the same name. Example: I might have 4 pages that have P-1 in the header, followed by 4 pages that have P-2 in the header, followed by 4 pages that have P-3 in the header. When I do a merge the headers all become P-1.

Are you talking about form fields placed in the header location or placing a header text in the PDF?
