I am new to the world of PDF’s other than saving word docs or scanning - We are currently reviewing our sales order documentation – it’s currently an 3 excel sheets with information copying from sheet one through to the second and third sheets, there is a small number of formulas involved.
Can this be re created in a PDF with or without any automatic email forwarding

Yes it can. Forms on a PDF, created using the bundled copy of LC Designer, can do amazingly complex things if you want them to. However the issue is with what you do with the data - the license agreement with Acrobat allows you to collect only 500 returned sets of electronic forms data during the lifetime of the product; for more than that you need to purchase a full LiveCycle enterprise license. I assume that a sales order form will need to be used far more often than that, and the costs of LC ES are significant.

That doesn't necessarily mean PDF is ruled out - there are other vendors of PDF software with different EULAs.
