How to create an exportable fillable form that can be filled long term

I would like to create a fillable pdf form originally in Word. I want to be able to have the form data exported into ACCESS or excel as a 2nd preference. Most importantly, I want the user to be able to complete the form at their leisure in multiple sittings if they choose. So either they would need to be able to save the form without the form losing the ability to be captured to the database WHENEVER they eventually submit it... OR the form would need to be smart enough to match an incomplete form the the complete one later on and then override the incomplete form...?

How do I do this?

Also - I already know how to create the form just need help with the export and saving functions i explained.

Thanks!

If this form is going to be used by people not at your site, and in Reader. Then exporting to a local Access DB is not possible. And exporting to an excel compatible format is possible, but not really practical. It's better to have the users submit the form in the Acrobat data formats, and then convert them on your system. Acrobat 8 Pro has some built-in tools for this.

You can set up the form for Fill-n-Save rights in Acrobat 8 Professional. Look on the Advanced menu. After the form is enabled, it can be saved from Reader so that users can fill it out in multiple sittings.
