How to encrypt credit card info on an Acrobat form?

A client of mine would like to be able to take soccer team registrations from their website and have it emailed to them. But there is credit card information on the registration form, so the transaction needs to be encrypted.

I know I can create an Acrobat Form that can be filled out on-line. I also know that the filled-out form can be attached to an email.

Can the attached file be encrypted before being emailed?

Maybe there's a better approach?

What if I put the registration form behind SSL (https) and when the user submits the form, I have the form stored on the webserver instead of having it emailed?

Would this be a better approach?
