Hi, this is hopefully my last question, probably not though, but this is a major query for me. E.g. If I go into my indesign document & delete a sentence from a paragraph, is there anyway when I pdf this document, that I can bring it into Acrobat Pro 8 and get the application form to keep all its field settings I originally gave this app form without me having to redo them all again.
I know you can edit a pdf but I need to be able to make my changes from indesign. Any help, really appreciated.

You can replace pages in an Acrobat PDF but not in a LiveCycle PDF. So if you have created your form usng Acrobat's form tools, you can revise the document without the form fields, and save this new document as a PDF, use a different name than the form you are updating. You can then use Acrobat to open the form and replace the PDF page upon which the form fields reside. The PDF layer will be replaced and the form field layer will not change. You may need to adjust the location of the form fields.

Hi, thanks for your answer, but I created the document in Indesign, pdf'd the document there, brought it into Acrobat Pro 8, then ran Form Field Recognition and inserted the remaining boxes manually. I don't have layers I think, where the form fields reside, are they not part of the pdf? If there is a way I can select all my fields, and put them onto a layer, I know what you are saying and how it works? It's just when I select all fields, and cut to put on a seperate layer, I can't find that option?

Hi, since I wrote that, I actually found the layers, I had to export my pdf as acrobat 6 to view the layers in acrobat which I hadn't done previously, and I did what you said by replacing the page thus keeping the fields. Thank you very much for clarifying it all for me.

I have a PDF form that contains Acrobat-generated fields. I used the procedure mentioned above to replace the background image document (whose content was originally created in Word 2007 and then saved as a PDF), but when I replace the page, all of my form fields go away. What am I doing wrong?
