Inaccessible Digital Signature

I am trying to make a form 508 compliant. I am using Acrobat 9 (9.3.4). I set the reading or tab order and when I do a full compliance check, I keep getting Inaccessible Digital Signature in the errors section on the left. When I click on one of the 4 Inaccessible Digital Signatures listed under content errors, I keep getting taken to the top of the page, but there are no areas on the page for a signature of any kind. We are not set up to do digital signatures as of yet, so I have to wonder why I keep getting these error messages. Is there a way I can remove whatever Acrobat thinks is a digital signature? I tried following the instructions and add tags, but its hard to do when you can't find what Acrobat thinks is a digital signature. If you can shed some light on my predicament, I would surely appreciate it.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Macintosh

It's possible to have invisible digital signature fields. Are any shown in the Signatures pane?

I'm having a hard time locating the signature pane. I did see under advanced clear all signatures, but its grayed out and I can't find the right combination to make it available.

I found the Signature pane and it is empty.
