How do I insert sequential numbering script into a PDF doc? I want the form to automatically use a special number each time the form is opened

If the issue is on a single machine, I would save the current value in a global variable - that way it is persistant.

If this needs to be handled on multiple machines, then you need to link to a common db/repository where the value is pulled from. And it (the db) maintains the sequencing.
