Lock Fields or Flatten PDF when user clicks Submit Button???

Hi,

I have Acrobat 9 pro and am new to creating interactive pdfs. I created one yesterday for a non-profit group that I started working with. The form is complete now. However, I would like the form fields to be locked or un-editable upon submission. In other words, I would like there to be some sort of command that flattens the pdf when the user clicks the submit button at the bottom of the page. The reason I want the fields to be locked is because I don't want the person who receives the returned data to be able to accidentally change it while they are viewing it. Is there any way to to this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I am unfamiliar with most all design and development including terminology. Therefore, if you would be kind enough to walk me through the process using acrobat 9 and explain any terminology you use It would be more than helpful.

Thanks,

Josh Campbell

Yeah, I have since realized that. The end user will be using reader. So, I am looking for a way to lock the fields upon submission...Any suggestions?
