Lost hyperlinks from Word 2008 Mac to Acrobat Pro 9

Folks, I have spent the last three hours plus trying to save a Mac Word 2008 (Snow Leopard OS) file down to a PDF file. Each time the hyperlinks show up as blue and underlined but don't work.

I see a lot of information on this out there but haven't been able to sift through it all. I can't tell if this is a known bug or something that can be worked around (if it's a known bug I will not be happy since this is the only reason I purchased these two products).

So far I have tried from Word:

1. Print to .PDF
2. Save to PDF

Same result. This is (was since the deadline is blown) a time sensitive project. Any help would be appreciated.

Sean

My Product Information:

For those interested, specific workflows I am using:

Take 1:
1. File, Save As
2. Select Format Drop-down
3. Select PDF

Take 2:
1. File, Print
2. PDF dropdown in lower left-hand corner

Again, using Mac OS 10.6.2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Word 2008 12.2.3

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
