I have a form created in MSWord. It has multiple check boxes. Now that I've converted it, the "form field recognition" didn't pick up any of the check boxes. My question is this: How do you experts size adobe check box fields to fit in a check box created by Word? It seems very tedious and sometimes my adobe created check box field obscures part of the Word check box (not using any borders). I have about 50 small check boxes created in Word that I need to convert. Thank you for the help.

If the form imported has very small boxes then Acrobat may not be able to "see" them on import.

A simple fix would be to go back to the word doc and with search and replace put a slightly larger box there. You can use the symbol and I have found that a font size of 12 works better than the default of 10 point.

Thanks, that worked perfectly. I get several word documents from users with smaller check boxes and always wondered how I could go in and edit them to make them larger..Your search and replace tip was wonderful. Although it took me quite a while to figure how to indicate to replace with a symbol. I finally used

I have a 4 column table, done in Word as part of a questionaire,... Yes, No, N/A, and the statement. None of the check boxes in the first 3 columns were recognized when I used "Run Form Field Recognition."

It was in Arial 12, but after reading these comments, I increased it to 14, and the check boxes in column 3 were recognized.... but nothing in columns 1 and 2... I even went up to size 20.

I found a comment somewhere that smart tags have to be added to the boxes in the original creation document, but darned if I can figure out how to do that in Word (2007).

Nonetheless, the size tip has helped....

Maybe Microsoft could abandon the quest for Yahoo, purchase Adobe, and intregate it as part of the Office package... although, that course of action might cause more problems than it would solve!

When your check boxes are covering your text, you can also try changing the background color from white to no background color.

Not as helpful as the first answer, but if you don't have access to the original word document, it might help.
