Hello:

A true, true newbie here...have been learning the forms in Acrobat/Designer 7.0, and have actually been able to make some simple forms. However, I am not a programmer at all, so I am stuck on this one. I need to make a form that can do the following (in FormCalc, I guess?):
* Pick from one of seven levels (25, 50, 100, etc.) (DropDownList1)
* That selection would fill in a text field with the model number (ES1000, ES1100, ES2000, etc.) (TextField1)
* Each model has a corresponding price, based on the value of TextField1 (what kind on field? Text, Numeric?) and would be entered into this box

So, I come with hat out...begging for help.

TIA,
Rob

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0, Windows

Hi Rob,

Welcome! What you are asking for is all possible but way too much to answer in a forum post. But, this site has a wealth of information to get you started and help you complete your form. A good place to start would be to watch the e-seminar video "Extending LiveCycle Forms with JavaScript." A link to the video can be found on the home page of Acrobatusers.com.

There is an article at JavaScript Corner titled "Programming List and Combo Fields in Acrobat and LiveCycle forms" which includes links to example forms for both technologies, so you can examine the code used for the interactive features. The examples cover most of what you want your form to do.

Hope this helps,
