Negative Number Field

I am creating a fillable pdf order form, automatically calculating the total as it's being filled in.

Before the Total is a field for deducting a coupon value. Is there an easy way to get this field to be a negative value without the client actually having to type in a minus symbol before the amount?

Thanks for your help.

Enter the coupon value as a positive value and then in the calculation subtract he coupon value when you compute the total value. And this requires using the 'Simplified field notation' (with simple field names) or a 'custom JavaScript calculation'.

Thank you for your answer. Of course, I don't have a clue how to do the Simplified field notation or java script. Is there a "for dummies" tutorial or help available on how to do this?

Have a look at How to do (not so simple) form calculations by Thom Parker.
