Newbie: want to retain form fields, but update background image

I am creating cards & templates in PSD which I then export as photoshop PDF, import into acrobat, create editable fields, and export to .pdf so the user can print out (say) a personalized card after entering a few of their own details.

I am trying to figure out how to update my source image, the PSD file, without recreating the form fields every time. E.g. in Flash this would be "update source" or something along those lines.

I am not thinking of the right language to accomplish this in acrobat because I have not turned up anything relevant in google. I don't need someone to recreate the wheel but if you could guide me to the correct terminology for doing this I would greatly appreciate it.

Please let me know if I need to be more clear, thanks.

The forum fields are actually layers in the PDF so you can use the Document > Replace Pages command to switch out your backgrounds.
