Help! I'm new to this interactive form design and very confused. I've designed some reporting forms with InDesign CS3 that we now want to put on our website that members can fill in and submit.
Our wishlist includes:
1. Forms will be on a website that can be opened or downloaded and filled out.
2. Data will go into a spreadsheet/database on a personal computer
3. filled forms can be printed or saved by reporter
I've looked at both programs and played with them, but it's not clear which is best for the online distribution.
- Will the forms be opened in another window or downloaded by the reporter?
- Will the filled forms come back by email when submit is clicked?
Sorry for the newbie questions, but this is for a non-profit and I'm going to teach myself how to do this. However, I can't find a clear answer on which program is best for an online form that will go into a database.
And, the truth is, when looking at the forums for the two different ones, the scripting and language on the LiveCycle forum is greek to me - how hard is this? Or is this something that can be accomplished by creating this form in Acrobat 9 pro and posting to our website?
Thanks much.
