I have Acrobat V7 which I purchased on campus (student licensing). I have been unable to create a fillable form in Designer. I can place the text object, but it will not allow me to type in it. I have been able to import Word documents and email them as fillable forms, but data will not populate to the original form, and it appears that no data is even in the returned xml files (nothing to spreadsheets, either). I have been assured data was entered and emailed. Help! Is the student version blocked from the fillable form function? I am VP of a student organization and purchased Acrobat specifically for the form feature.
Do not use the Master Page to place form fields. Its purpose is for page layout, if form objects are placed there, they cannot be filled in or edited.
Always use the Design View to place form objects.
When using a Word doc to create PDF forms, properly tag the doc before conversion. Inspect the fields created from the conversion and if they are not active, you'll have to add the objects in Designer.
Always test your form on another computer before deployment. Also read the Help file for further assistance.
