Helloworld! (this is my first post here :) )

I'd like to create a pdf from an xfdf file but i'd like to have 2 important features:

1)The possibility to create an auto expandable, multi page Text area on PDF template; something like when in Microsoft Word you "insert" a txt file content in a Word Model and it fills up with data only in the prescripted areas, and if text is longer than a page it pruposes the same model for the next page

2)The possibility to declare the new .pdf file name with a content of a tag from .xfdf

sorry for my bad english and thanks for watching and helping

regards,
Pentolino

1 is impossible with Acrobat. Only LiveCycle has a similar feature.

This might not be possible. The XFDF file has no information about the layout of the fields on the, so you might not the contextual usage of each field. So you may have 5 fields with individuals' names, but is one an employee name and the others names dependents, a spouse, witnesses, emergency contact name?

Also the XFDF usually only has field names and field values for fields that have a value, there is an optional parameter to include empty fields.

Thanks for your answers!

But is it possible to create an auto expandable field directly in a PDF template, without tell nothing about it on .xfdf?

I tried to send a "bigger than the text area" text volume data to a pdf template and it creates a scroll bar on the left of the text area to contain everything..
I'd like an area that expands itself according to the text dimension, without scroll bar.

I'd never tought it might be such a rare request..

thanks everybody for your attention and your appreciated help!

XFDF is a format used by Acrobat forms which do not have dynamically expanding form fields, only multi line form fields.

If you need dynamically expanding form fields, you need to use LiveCycle Designer, but you can not use the XFDF file with that type of form.

Thanks for your info..

The problem is:
I need to take a .txt file, put in a Word model and have it printed in .pdf in the more automatic possibile way, that's why I was looking in .xftf

What's in your opinion the best way to do that?
