I created several pdf documents into forms, which I need to number sequentially and include in proposals. However, I find that once I try to combine them, the numbers all change to the same thing. Is there a way to be able to combine the files yet still retain the individual numbering sequence. I am very new to Adobe PDF and such, please keep explanations simple. Thank you.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.0, Windows

PS. the reason for doing this is the number sequence changes from proposal to proposal so i thought creating a form format where I could type in the number would be helpful but i ran into this unforeseen glitch

It sounds like you're using text form fields to display the number. You'll have to give each field that you want to show a particular value a name that is different than the others.

New Question... I have a ton of Page Maker documents that I want to PDF; however, I need to turn them into forms as the header will change with each use. I am wondering if there is a way to keep the placement and size, etc of the two header fields precisely the same from document to document. This time they will all have the same field name and therefore will, once combined, be easily edited to match.

There are a number of ways to do this. Probably the easiest is to create a one page PDF and place the fields where you want them. To then add the fields to a document, add this page to it and duplicated the fields to the rest of the pages. Then remove the page.

I'd probably get the coordinates of the field boundaries via JavaScript (via the "rect" field property), cut and paste the fields, and reset the boundaries to those I obtained earlier.

Milton1953 - did you choose Extend Features in Adobe Reader from the Advanced menu in Acrobat Pro? That will enable the form for Acrobat Reader.
