Populating Data from one PDF to another

Hello all,

I have spent quite some time trying to see if this question had already been posted and I could not find it. So, if it has and someone can point me to it, I am sorry for re-posting--and thank you.

If not, then...

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to populate data from one PDF to another. For example, if a user has multiple PDF's that all require the same information (name, address, etc) is there a way for the data to propagate to the other pdf's?

I would like the solution to be as minimal as possible, meaning no db involved. Can this be done with java or something similar? Is this even possible.

thanks for any help

Acrobat Standard 9.1.3, Windows

Have you looked at using an export of form data to an FDF or XFDF file?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have looked at it, and as I understand it (and correct me if I am wrong), the process has to be performed by the user. can it be automated by a background process?

I am looking for something that is seamless to the user. i.e. they have two forms open, type into one and the data propagates to the other. These users are not computer savvy, so the fewer clicks the better.

thanks again for the quick response though.
