Possible to print different size pages within one PDF document?

I have a set of pretty basic Mortgage documents and Riders that I'd like to be able to print as they were imported into Adobe (from MS Word). Some of the documents, such as the "Note & Mortgage" and "Truth in Lending," are formatted for Legal-size paper, while the other documents are formatted for Letter.

Is there any way to actually print the way they're formatted? I have tried the "Choose paper source by PDF size" checkbox that shows up in the Print screen, but it still spits everything out on Letter-size paper. It does, however, show the documents in the "Preview" pane in the appropriate size.

This seems like a print driver issue, but wanted to check here before I write it off as impossible.

And while we're on the printing subject....the majority of the large documents (many pages) we print need to be printed as "image" in the Print > Advanced tab, or else we get a operand error. Any idea why? The shorter docs print fine with or without selecting that option. While this isn't a huge issue, the larger docs take forever to spool as images.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.3.1, Windows

Not sure about the print as image bit, but we have run into the same problem of printing different paper sizes from within the same PDF at my company, too. What type of printer are you using? Have you tried different options within the Page Scaling drop down field? Do you have both sizes of paper loaded in the printer? From the Acrobat print dialog box, can you access your printer Properties and make sure that the Paper Source is set to Automatically Select?

It's a Toshiba c351 multifunction machine loaded with both legal and letter size. I do have "auto select" for paper size, and tried the setting for "print based on PDF page source/size" (paraphrasing)

Not sure what else to try.

Okay - I thought maybe you had the same printer model that we have, but you don't. I'm not sure that we found a solution to the issue yet either, though you might see about downloading the latest drivers for your printer or even trying an updated generic driver too. (That is, if you're not in a managed work environment like ours and you have administrative privileges on your computer.) We've not yet done that simply because it's such a hassle to update the print server.
