Problem printing completed form. (Data fields print blank)

I created a form using Acrobat 8 Pro and enabled user rights so that people using Acrobat reader can fill and save data also.

Form works fine for filling out data and saving it and e-mailing it.

However, when I try printing a completed form, the data I entered into text fields does not print. I get a blank form.

How do I enable the form so it can be printed with completed fields, also.

Thanks!

Acrobat Pro 8, Windows

Check when the form reset will happen and where it is placed. It could be resetting the form before it prints.

I am experiencing the same problem - I created a form using Acrobat 8 Pro and enabled user rights so that people using Acrobat Reader can fill and save data. When they (or I) print their completed form, the data they have saved does not print - what prints is a blank form.

There is no reset button on the form, so I don't think the form is 'resetting' before it prints. Help please!

I have a similar problem however I have three numeric field boxes and out of the three only one keeps printing blank - I have tried deleting it and using a copy of one of the boxes that is working but still no luck.

Thanks daka for the helpful suggestion. Actually that other thread seems to refer to 'mark ups' rather than 'field data' (i.e. data that is added to complete the interactive form). It is field data that I have been having problems with.

I have now managed to solve the problems by:
1) opening the form in Adobe LiveCycle Designer
2) clicking in the relevant field and opening the 'Object' palette
3) selecting the 'Field' tab
4) changing 'Presence' from 'Visible (screen only)' to 'Visible'
5) continuing the usual process of saving the file and then opening it in Adobe Professional to 'enable usage rights in Adobe Reader' etc etc

Phew! This one had me defeated for a while, thanks for the suggestions.

What they don't tell you is there was a change from version 8 to version 9 in how fields are handled.
In version 8 the default was to show AND print a box around each field. So I had to go in each time to change the field to invisible, meaning the box around the field. In version 9 the default is a field that has no box around it, and therefore doesn't print one either. So in version 9 I changed the field to be invisible doesn't print, thinking I was preventing the printing of the box around the field. But in reality I had just set the field contents to 'do not print' not the box around it (which is no longer the default setting in version 9).

I've had this same issue. But I have version 7. If I upgrade will it remedy the problem?

It's been a while since I have used version 7.

As near as I can figure they were trying to correct version 8, by changing the way the default box is printed. In one sense, an upgrade will 'fix' the problem as long as you don't try and change the default settings in the new version.

Default in version 8 (and apparently version 7) was to print a box around the field. That could be shut off in the field preferences so that only the contents printed, not the box around it. And there was not option to keep the contents hidden when printing.

Default in version 9 is to print only the contents of the field, with no box around it.

In version 9 field preferences you can select whether the CONTENTS of the field are visible or not when printed. It has nothing to do with a box around the field as it did in previous versions.

It all gets confusing when the same dialogue preferences are used to do something entirely different in the new version.
