Questions about distributing forms using web based email.

It seems that you can really only use the distribute form feature in Acrobat with a dedicated email app. I use gmail for all of my email work at home where I am trying to use the distribute feature.

1. How can I work with gmail in distributing forms so I can collect responses via email?
2. How can I work with gmail in distributing forms so I can collect responses using Acrobat.com?

I can't add new recipients to a form distribution in the Tracker because I keep getting a warning message saying I have no profiles set up and need to click on the Email icon in the control panel.

Anyone especially from Adobe who is listening can you shed some light on this no so seamless way of distributing forms I am trying to do.

Have you tried installing Google Notifier? This should bridge the gap to make gmail your default email app. It's available for Mac and Windows and has a setting which should resolve at least a part of your problem.

Thanks for responding.

Apparently it is called Gmail Notifier on the Windows platform which is what I am using and it doesn't do the trick. There is another app called gAttach! that does let me set Gmail as the default email app. It works if I have an email link to click on in a PDF file. Gmail opens up with a new message in compose mode. It does not work at all with the Tracker.

Distributing forms and using the Tracker only allow a narrow (very narrow) margin of options in order to use it. Everything in Acrobat seems to be greatly tied to Microsoft Office. Well I use Firefox for my browser and and like it very well. This kind of reminds me of an insulin I had before the one I am using now that would only work with Energizer batteries and no others. I tried using another brand of battery and the thing went screwy on me. The pump I use now will let me use any brand of AAA battery. No problems.

So this is another case of where I can almost do something with Acrobat and can envision a result at the end but the bridge is missing the last few feet.

Thanks again for responding.
