The form has successfully worked for 2 years. Several employees have recently upgraded to Outlook 2007 and when they attempt to submit the form, they get the "recipient is ambiguous" error message. Everyone else in the office can still use the form with no problems. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

This would tend to indicate there's a problem with one or more of the email addresses. Either they're not full/valid, or perhaps they refer to an entry in the address book that does not exist in that user's address book, or some similar problem.

There have been no changes to email addresses, either in the user's email or the form. The only change is that the user upgraded their Outlook to the 2007 version.

We have the same issue except that our users are Office 2010. All but 2 employees can use the form. 2 of them get the ambiguous message. Which is stupid because clearly if the others can send it, nothing is wrong with the email address. I saw another link that said to check for extra spaces & such in the addresses. So, I will delete all of the addresses & retype them. The only thing that I can think on the user end is to delete temp files & such, then close ie & reopen. (But we post our form to the intranet that's why I think that might help). Anyway. I will let you know if I get it to work. Please let me know if you get it resolved on your end. Thanks.

When you have a list of recipients, there can be no spaces between the semi-colon and the next name. For example: joesmith [at] gmail [dot] com;sallysmith [at] gmail [dot] com;marysmith [at] gmail [dot] comIn previous versions of Outlook, it allowed a space between the semi-colon & the next name in the list. Outlook 10 does not allow you to do this. When I made this correction, it seemed to solve the problem. Good luck!

For me, there were no spaces. I am not sure if I can explain this correctly but I was able to resolve the issue.
I did delete all of the addresses and re-enter them. However, instead of retyping them, I typed them into the "To" line of a new Outlook 2010 message. Usually, once Outlook recognizes/confirms and address that you've entered, it will modify the appearance, by showing the full address or underlining the contact. Once all of my addresses were "recognized", I copied them and pasted them after the "mailto:" on my submit button.

There was one address that we had problems with last year. It was a distribution group. We ended up having to delete it from Exchange and put it back in. Even though the address was the same, Outlook seemed to prefer the "name" of the new group. That seemed to be the case in this adobe issue too. I was entering the address but it wanted the name of the group.

I hope that made sense to you. Either way, it's resolved. Thanks.
