Redaction Not Working

I have a document that I want to do redaction. I did a search and it found several instances of the item I want to redact and Checked all and they show in the document that they were found. The problem is that the "apply redaction" is greyed out so I can not apply.

Please help resolve issue.

I do not know if this helps you with figuring out the problem but when I asked Acrobat to recognize the text I get a message "Adobe could not perform recognition (OCR) on this page because This page contains renderable text"

I figured out that my problem was that I can not read. I did not see the mark for redaction in bottom of search.

I still would appreciate help on explaining the message about not able to do the OCR.

You can't OCR a document that already has "real" text in it.

Thanks for the response, I would mark this answered but I do not see any place to do that.

There should be a large "ACCEPT THIS ANSWER" image at the top right corner of all the posts in the thread. If you click any of them, that response will be marked as the correct answer to your question.

Correction: It seems that you *can* apply OCR on a doc with both renderable ("real") text and image, but you must suppress the error warning by placing check at 'ignore future errors in this document'. the OCR engine will skip the renderable text and process the image text. also, make sure to select 'searchable image' or 'searchable image exact', but not 'clear scan', because if 'clear scan' is selected, the option to 'ignore error' is not available.

Thanks to Reid for pointing out my mistake.
