Resizing the height of a form tool created field

When I crate fields using the form tool function, the field is defaulted to a set height. When I increase the field height, the height doubles. There are no "in between" heights. Is there an option/preference somewhere that I need to reset that would allow me to gradually increase or decrease my field height?

Check your View menu (in Acrobat) and make sure that Snap to Grid is disabled.
