I am creating a form in InDesign CS2, exporting PDF with the "create layers" checked for Acrobat 8.1.1
Initially it would not convert the page to a form if I had more than two layers: the background and the field lines layer. Any guesses why that is?
More to the point, now I have the InDesign file as two layers and bring the guidelines over in the PDF to use for creating/lining up my fields. When I run RFFR, it picks up the guidelines too and makes a "checkerboard" of fields among the guidelines.
How can I get it to ignore the guides when converting, but still show them so I can make my field adjustments?
Any advice welcome to save my head re: the wall.
If I'm understanding you correctly, one thing you can do is convert your InDesign file to PDF without the guides, then use the grid feature in Acrobat for fine adjustments to field placement. In Acrobat 8 Pro, turn on the grids from the menu item View ->Grid. The grid units can be modified in Acrobat's preferences, Edit -> Preferences ->General, then choose the Units and Guides option in the left side panel.Hope this helps,
