searchable page identification

For archiving purposes, I am having a document imaging service scan single page customer application forms to pdf. After the scanning conversion, I want to manually add the customer names and ID's to each page to enable a search for these forms by the name or ID. I have Acrobat 5.0. Would there also be a way to create an automatic re-sort of the page order based on the names or ID's?

First off, you should seriously look at updating your version of Acrobat. You can add page numbers using Javascript by using the addField object or by creating a page template and spawning pages from a template. All of this is complicated and requires scripting.

If you upgrade your version of Acrobat you can add a header or footer using a menu command —much simpler solution.

Once you have page numbers/IDs, etc. you can't reorder the pages with a simple menu command.
