Set User Entry Limitations To A Text Field

Forgive me if I am not using the correct terminology, but I have a form that we use for our fire department to track which piece of apparatus members were on that i converted over to a pdf and what I need to do is to limit the user input on certain text boxes to 5 different inputs, E, L, T, PV, or STA. Is there a way to set the limitations of the text box to only allow one of the 5 designations.
Thank You

If this can't be done and I have to use a combo box, is there a way to have one of the selections be blank. The blank spot would be when someone was not in attendance.

Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2, Windows

Use a combobox. Create an entry that is a dash, "-" or a space. I like dashes because it's an explicit entry.

You could use a keystroke script to limit text entry (see one of my event tutorials). But comboboxes are a much better UI.
