Question from the Adobe Acrobat Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/adobeacrobat/posts/10150290448392319
Ok, I just gotta ask - and I also hope the Adobe team (or others) can give me a swift and clear answer (it was very confusing to find the answer I wanted on your forum): I need to save PDF-files with editable forms for our project in a way that they can edit and save the data within. The ideal way would be that they could use a password to edit these forms, then save and send copies of the files to various recipients that should only be able to read and print - not edit. Is this at all possible with just Adobe Reader or does one have to purchase the full Acrobat for all of my colleagues? :)
As to saving the forms, if any of your users will be using Adobe Reader, then you will need to use Adobe Acrobat or LiveCycle Designer to apply extended reader rights to the forms. If you use Adobe Acrobat, then there is a limit of 500 forms that can be distributed. If you are distributing more than the 500 forms, you will need to purchase a LiveCycle ES Server product. You can get around the distribution if you simply submit the forms to a web server that store the data in a database or performs some other action to transmit the data to you.
