Submitting a form to an email address

I want to email a form to a group of people, have them fill it out, click the submit button, and then have it emailed to me. I created a submit button on my form, several times, but it doesn't work. When I click the submit button, I get the Send Form Window to open and then after I enter the data in the fields, I click send and then the SAVE AS window opens. HELP!

Try using the "Distribute Form" feature in Acrobat.

Thanks, Thorn but I forgot to mention that I did that and it still wants to save the file when I click the submit button.

There has to be something else going on with your form for this to happen. The first thing you need to do is to determine whether or not this issue is specific to your form or you system. Try the form out on a different computer. Have someone else give it a try. Another thing you need to do is to check out the button itself. Is there any code on the submit button?

Also, does the form actually send? Is it closed after the send (and save) operation?

When the save as window comes up and I click save, it saves the file and then I am back looking at the form again. The form never sends...I will try another computer and let you know...thanks!

No, it does not work on another computer. It says that this operation is not permitted.

Ok then, I think there is definitely something else besides the submit going on. Was this other computer using Reader to display the form? "Operation not permitted" usually means a script, or action, is trying to perform either a privileged operation, or if it's in Reader, an operation that the PDF is not enabled for.

Try starting over from scratch and making a very simple form with an email submit button. See if you get the same behavior.

Hello,
I hope you are still able to help me today. Okay, I emailed the form to someone at a different location and they were able to pull it up and email it back to me. So, I am thinking it is not the form and has to do with the setting on my computer. Do you have any suggestions? I appeciate your help. Thank you.
