I have a form that I need to distribute to clients that would simply collect text data as well as being able to submit back a picture. I am developing on a Mac and I have the adobe suite CS4 which includes acrobat 9 Pro. I have developed a mock form for the data collection. I have set it up in acrobat.com to be distributed and submitted back, however, I need the form to be able to attach a jpeg and submit as well.

Unfortunately, I am on a Mac so will be using Acrobat 9 Pro and the free reader as well as acrobat.com to set up the clients for distribution.
I have it all working with the exception of the attachment. In reading through the forum I found a similar question concerning Adobe 9 submit forms. Here they mention that it can be done with 'attach a file as a comment'. I haven't tried this as of yet and was hoping to find out a little more from someone if it is doable before proceeding and searching.

If your clients only have Reader then you won't be able to reader-enable your form to allow a comment attachment as this requires the server product -- LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES Server.
You other option is to create a link to a file (where it is stored in a common location) and pass around the link. The link would have to to a web server (i.e. an HTTP connection). You will not be able to have a map to a drive or something like \\servername\folder as your link.

I didn't quiet understand your last reply. I will be staying with a mac and if needed can get whatever will make it easy for the client (something other than reader if needed). Are you saying that I need a server in order to accomplish this? Username/password and a place to store data? sorry, but I am confused.

It isn't possible to Reader-enable your form, so recipients [i]using the free Reader[/i], can add attachments unless you use the LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES Server. You can create a form that allows you to insert an image field if you develop the form in LiveCycle Designer; however this product is Windows-based only. Another option, would be to create a script that passes around a link to where the file is located. Do you know if this would be possible with the Mac iweb? Otherwise, I guess I need to look into your latest response on how can I add attachments to my form?
