Text alignment in multiple line fields

Acrobat 9 Standard
This is the first form Ive created with Acrobat. When filling in multi-line text fields, there is a 1/8" gap at the top of the field. This occurs in every multi-line field. The field height on screen and in print should readily show 2-3 lines of text entry. Its like the first line is being forced to almost center of the 3/8" field height. I have already tried the alignment options for the field properties which is only Left, Center & Right. I have tried giving Extended Formatting for entering of text which does allow for vertical alignments. That didn't help. All single line fields are just fine. Using arial 10pt for every field.

I do not mind posting or emailing the file if need be. Initially created the form in Excel, then converted to Acrobat. Am not using any other apps such as LiveCycle or Pro... maybe I should be.
I sure would appreciate some expert help.

Just discovered something that lkassuba had replied to me in another forum. If I goto Form field Text Properties, then make Paragraph Spacing Above "-6" , then the first line of text will go to top of field.

I do not know what this means and what it will do to rest of form if it is the fix. Can anyone advise based on new info.

Couple hours later, I now know it means setting these values is not a solution as it only works on text already entered! Since the users sure arent going to go to each field entering in specific formatting, I may have arrived at the end of the road.

Sure hope someone can advise me.
