Text size discrepancy

I have designed a business card template as a form in Acrobat Pro 7.0 for a client, so that he can add the names, et cetera himself for various employees. The text fields are set to auto, with default text and the box height set for the optimal size, which should only start to decrease if the name is too long.

On my machine, this works perfectly. However, when he enters information into the form it is shrinking the text size even when there is plenty of room in the field. He sent me an example of this, and when I select the text (as if to change it) it increases to the correct size but then decreases when it is unselected. If I change the text, it works fine.

He is using Pro 6.0.6. Is this a version issue? Does anyone have any thoughts as to how I can fix it? I would really appreciate any help you could give, I am completely baffled...

Thanks,
Lorelei

Hi --

There are a couple of things at play here, with suggestions.

First, it isn't likely related to the version as the same process worked in acro6 that works in acro8.

You are likely using a different preview method than he is, which is set in the preferences. Choose Edit > Preferences > Page Display and see if the checkbox Use Local Fonts is selected or not. If it is, you may be using a different font than your colleague, and consequently, he won't see what you see, yet you'll continue to see the same appearance. My suggestions are:

* Make sure both you and your colleague have the preference deselected.
* Select a common font, if you have specified a lesser-known font.
* If the font is an issue, and can be shared, send a copy of the font file to your colleague so the cards can be processed using the specific font.
