Just upgraded to Acrobat 9 Standard. Converted a Word document to a fillable form, worked great, but I need to correct a misspelled word in the new document. When I choose the touch-up tool and click on the word I get the following message - Warning. Since the original font is not available, a substituted font for editing is used. Any changes to text of the original font will place a new font dependency upon the document. I click ok and I still can't edit the word. The font is Times New Roman. I assume it is supported in Acrobat 9 because if I chose the option to create a new PDF document, that is one of the fonts available. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

This is not an issue of supporting a font, but rather having the font on the computer that is trying to edit the PDF. So if you can get the necessary font on the system you should be able to use the text touchup tool.
As noted the best method is to fix the original Word document and create a new PDF in a different directory from your form. You can then replace the page of the existing form with the corrected PDF page. You may also want to make a backup copy of the form before performing this task.
You can also place a read only field with the appropriate fill color to covet the original text over the text and correct the spelling using the default value for the field. Note you might not be able to match the font in the form field.
