True drop-downs and an anoying blue background

1) Is there any way in Acrobat 6 pro to create a drop-down list? I can easily create cycling lists (user must click "up" or "down" buttons to cycle through the lsit), but I can't discover how to create a true drop-down list, which in my application would be much simpler (and much more obvious) to use. I would have thought this would be automatic when I deselected "multiple selection." My primary complaints with the cycling lists are that they require the user to click on the field just to figure out what the field is going to do (buttons are not visible all of the time) and, after cycling to the desired option, must click that option to activate it.

2) How do I get rid of the annoying blue background behind the selected object? This feature makes sense in multi-selection lists, but no sense at all in a simple cycling list or a drop-down. It's ugly and prints poorly. Neither the background color option in the list's property box nor the general form background preference control this attribute.

I think this tutorial by Thom Parker might help you get the list functionality you're looking for:
