Hi, I'm new to the Forum and pretty inexperienced with Acrobat (using 8 Standard - Windows XP). I have 2 problems:-

1. I can't find a way to remove a highlight that I placed over some text

2. I can't remove/alter some text which I put in using Typewriter

Can anyone kindly advise please?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.1.1, Windows

1. Select the "Hand Tool" and use the hand to select the comment or typewriter anntoation (comment) you want to delete
2. Do one of the following:

Press the delete key.

Double click the item and select the "Delete" from the options menu.

Use the Right mouse button to pull up the context menu and select the "delete" option.

More information is in the complete help under "Adding Comments".

Thanks for the response.

When I select the hand tool and click on the highlighted text, the hand just animates into a grip, pressing delete does nothing.

With the hand tool selected, double-clicking does nothing.

Right clicking generates a menu but Delete isn't on it.

So I'm rather stumped!

Does this mean my software isn't performing properly?

Has the PDF you are working on been secured? Look for closed padalock in the lower left hand corner or look at the PDF's properties.

No there's no security; I put the highlights in but can't remove them. Also, there's a small amount of text I inserted (using typewriter), which I can't now remove either.

Stand fast - I have just re-opened the document and it works! When I hover the cursor over the highlights, it turns into a black pointer, click to select, press delete - highlight goes!

Same with text I previously inserted - now gone!

How good is that? Can't explain it, tried everything yesterday - Hey Ho!

Many thanks for the efforts to assist, much appreciated.

I'm having the same difficulty with text that I previously highlighted. I'm now trying to remove the

highlighting, and cannot find any way to make it happen. I tried the last suggestion from Griffo,

posted at 10:29 on January 26, 2008, but even closing and re-opening the document doesn't result in

any changes to the cursor and certainly does not remove the highlighting from the text.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might try next. Thanks in advance.

NB, can the highlights be selected as a separate unit using the black arrow tool?
If not, maybe the PDF was flattened, which means you can't remove the highlights anymore.
