Hello and let me thank you in advance for the answer ( I have be reading these forums for a while looking for my particular question but cannot seem to locate it) as you are obviously the Acrobat Gurus. I am a total newbie to this type of thing but I learn quickly.

In Acrobat 8, I have created an interactive form with numerous text fields and pages. The user will enter data into the first two pages of the form that will poplulate the text fields on the remaining 7 pages. The data is mostly personal information type of text data (height, weight, first, middle, last name, address, driver's license number, etc.) that is required on the last 7 pages of the document.

What I have:
I have all of the text fields, that need to auto-populate named the same to avoid the repeated typing of the data.

What I need:
There are several categories of the data (people's names) that they need to be sorted to so that they will populate the proper text fields. Categories are : Victim, Complainant, Defendant, Witness, Investigator. I was thinking of a combo box with these categories listed as the choice but then I am lost. Do I need to write script to rename the corresponding text fields, where the data (victims names) will be entered, in order to take advantage of the autopopulate feature or is there a simpler or better way to accomplish this?

Thanks much. :|

Why do the names of the fields need to match the selection in the combo-box? Why not just give them a generic name? It's not possible to rename a field with a script, since the name property is read-only, so you should think of another way of achieving what you want to achieve.
