Which version do I need to save form data?

We need to have users save their entered data in a .pdf form, so that they may save the form with the changes. I see that by enabling User Rights In Adobe Reader when the form is created, this can be accomplished.

Can we do this with Acrobat Standard, or do we need Acrobat Pro?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 8.1.2, Windows

All versions of Acrobat can save forms without special rights. Users with Reader will need version 5.1 or above and the PDF form will require Extended Reader Rights.

Extended Reader Rights can be enabled by an Adobe server product for unlimited use, a licensed 3rd party for unlimited use, or Verson 8 Professional or version 9 Standaard (AcroForms only) for a maximum use of the form by 500 users.

There are issues between forms created with version 7 LiveCycle Designer and version 8.

I was going by this info I found when searching the Adobe site:

Enable Reader users to save form data

Ordinarily, Reader users can’t save filled-in copies of forms that they complete. However, you can extend rights to Reader users so they have the ability to do so. These extended rights also include the ability to add comments, use the Typewriter tool, and digitally sign the PDF.

1. Choose Advanced > Enable User Rights In Adobe Reader.
2. Read the instructions that appear, and then click Save Now.

These extended privileges are limited to the current PDF. When you create a different PDF form, you must perform this task again if you want to enable Reader users to save their own filled-in copies of that PDF.

End of quote

So based on this, does your reply still stand? The quote above is from the Acrobat Professional 8 help file, and I was under the assumption that only Professional offers the menu option "Enable User Rights In Adobe Reader."

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
