Today I made forms in both word and excel but after turned them into adobe format using the create adobe button at the top of the each program. Then running the auto field recognition. Neither could find any forms.

I use other premade word template and excel template I found online at Microsoft web page in practicing and they work but my self made ones won't.

In excel I made border on the cell I wanted to be forms.
In excel I made text box where I wanted the form to be.

What am I doing wrong or where can I found a tutor on this. I look online and in the books I have no luck. But I am not a very good web surfing finding stuff.

Thank you
Kimberly

To use auto field recognition the resulting PDF needs to be tagged. Excel can not do this. For Word one needs to set the PDF converter option and do not user the Acrobat printer.

Thank you for the answer but I do not follow. How do I tag it in excel for adobe to pick it up. I know when I download a form for Microsoft web page that when I do the same step it work perfectly but I can't get it work.

How and what do I tag so in word and excel so the field recognition will work.

Sorry, but I just don't follow
Thank you
Kimberly

I just wanted to come back and add on since I had to answer very fast before. I have to make many forms a day so drawing each box in adobe is very time consuming. I wanted to take a template in word or excel because it easier to change artwork and other items around in those program then use the convert to adobe at the top of the program and use the auto field recognition. I tired all week to figure out why the pre-made template or files I download as word or excel will convert to pdf then the auto field recognition work perfectly but nothing I do works. I have to missing something but have no clue what.

Thank you for your time

You can get a tagged PDF file from an MS Word docuement using the PDF Maker macro, but you will also need to set the PDF Maker's settings to create a Tagged PDF.

You can not get a tagged PDF file from Excel.

So, have you enabled the PDF Macros in MS Office?

This step is very important to getting PDF Maker to work and many people have a problem because by default Microsoft has disabled the PDF Maker macros.

Which version of MS Office are you using?

In version 2007 MS has introduced the "ribbon" and in prior versions there is a menu bar option for Acrobat.
